The Lip Filler Procedure

At the beginning of the procedure, a local anaesthetic cream and an ice pack will be applied in order to minimise any pinching and discomfort.

Every patient’s lips are injected differently but we will ensure that you are happy with the fullness and shape of your lips every step of the way, instead of injecting all of the filler at once. If for any reason you are not happy with your results, a dissolving enzyme can be used to reverse the effects of the treatment.

Recovery

Although you are able to return to your usual daily activities straight after treatment, there are some precautions and care instructions that you will need to have in place in order to ensure a smooth recovery. • Gently apply cold compress to reduce swelling
• Try to sleep with your head slightly elevated
• Apply a bruise treatment cream to help any bruising subside
• Avoid oil-based skincare and makeup for 24 hours
• Avoid excessive heat exposure for 24 hours
• Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
• Avoid wearing lipstick for three days
• Avoid applying pressure to the lips for two weeks
• Stay hydrated and follow a healthy diet
• Avoid smoking
• Avoid drinking alcohol
• Avoid long flights as the changing air pressure in the plane can interfere with recovery

Lip Filler Results

The real results of your dermal filler treatment will be apparent after three to five days. The results of your treatment will last anywhere from six to 12 months, depending on how quickly your body metabolises the filler. To maintain your results, you will need additional treatments once the filler has begun to dissolve.
