What to Expect
In order to determine whether Ultherapy is the right treatment for you, your medical history will be reviewed and your skin evaluated. The Ultherapy machine, also referred to as Ulthera, scans the skin to identify all the separate layers of the skin. This makes the treatment extremely accurate with pinpoint precision improving its efficacy and safety profile.
Your clinician will usually map out the treatment areas and then will repeatedly pass the Ulthera handpiece over the skin. You’ll typically feel a hot, prickly sensation as the collagen-boosting energy is delivered under the skin surface. A topical numbing cream may be applied in order to alleviate any discomfort during your treatment. Analgesics can be provided if required.
Most patients will only require one Ultherapy session but since everyone has a different collagen-building process and biological response to the treatment, some patients may benefit from additional sessions.
Patients can return to work or go home directly after their treatment and won’t experience any disruptions to their usual activities. We will also provide you with specific aftercare instructions that you should follow as closely as possible.
