tighten, lift and rejuvenate your skin
Ultherapy skin and body tightening

Ultherapy skin and body tightening is a non-surgical facelift, neck and body tightening technology that uses ultrasound energy to stimulate collagen and elastin production, so it’s no wonder it’s been awarded as the Gold Standard in skin tightening.  This non-invasive skin lifting treatment from Merz Aesthetics is approved in over 90 countries and there has already been over 1.5 million treatments performed worldwide to date. Dr Lowe is a national trainer and Key Opinion Leader for Merz and Ultherapy Australia, making him a local and international expert.

What is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is an ultrasound skin tightening device that uses pulses of micro-focused ultrasound energy to stimulate lift and tightening at some of the deepest layers of the skin. This results in a gradual non-invasive skin tightening, making it an ideal treatment for a non-surgical facelift. Collagen boosting ultrasound energy also makes it perfectly placed to tighten the neck without surgery creating a non-surgical neck lift. Ultherapy skin and body tightening can also be used to target skin laxity and wrinkles on the décolletage, around the knees, elbows and even the abdomen. Ultherapy’s non-surgical approach creates long lasting results with no downtime!

What to Expect

In order to determine whether Ultherapy is the right treatment for you, your medical history will be reviewed and your skin evaluated. The Ultherapy machine, also referred to as Ulthera, scans the skin to identify all the separate layers of the skin. This makes the treatment extremely accurate with pinpoint precision improving its efficacy and safety profile.

Your clinician will usually map out the treatment areas and then will repeatedly pass the Ulthera handpiece over the skin. You’ll typically feel a hot, prickly sensation as the collagen-boosting energy is delivered under the skin surface. A topical numbing cream may be applied in order to alleviate any discomfort during your treatment. Analgesics can be provided if required.

Most patients will only require one Ultherapy session but since everyone has a different collagen-building process and biological response to the treatment, some patients may benefit from additional sessions.

Patients can return to work or go home directly after their treatment and won’t experience any disruptions to their usual activities. We will also provide you with specific aftercare instructions that you should follow as closely as possible.

Ultherapy Before and After

What Can Be Treated with Ultherapy?

Here are some of the most common skin concerns and areas that can be treated with Ultherapy:

  • Eye Wrinkles: Reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles around the eyes
  • Droopy Brows: Lift and rejuvenate the brows to create a more alert and ‘awake’ appearance
  • Lower Face:  Lift and tighten jowls and define the jawline.  Reduce the appearance of lines around the mouth
  • Neck and Décolletage: Treat wrinkles on the neck and upper chest
  • Sagging Abdominal Skin: Address skin laxity following weight loss or pregnancy
  • Arms and Thighs: Reduce skin laxity on the undersides of the arms or the inner thighs
  • Knees: Improve lax skin and wrinkles about the knee

Ideal Candidates for Ultherapy

Ultherapy skin and body tightening is ideal for patients who want to address early to medium degrees of skin laxity. Whilst it doesn’t duplicate the results of surgery, it is perfect for anyone who wants to tighten the face and neck but isn’t ready for surgery. It’s also suitable for people who want to maintain a lifted appearance following a prior surgical face or necklift. Some patients may require a combination approach together with other treatments to address all the signs of aging. This might include anti-wrinkle injections, dermal filler or laser treatments. We will also take your medical history and any underlying medical conditions into consideration before recommending the perfect treatment plan.

Ultherapy Results

Whilst the results of a facelift are more immediate, Ultherapy requires a little patience. It’s important to remember that Ultherapy works to heal the skin from the inside out, which means the skin needs time to produce more collagen and for the lift and tightening to take effect. Some people may see some immediate effect, but most will start seeing a noticeable difference 2 – 3 months later. Your skin will continue to tighten and improve over the next 6 months as weakened collagen is replaced with collagen that is fresher and more elastic.

Ultherapy: How it works

How long does Ultherapy last?

Most patients will see results between 3-6 months. As we continue to age, future treatments will be required approximately every 12-24 months to keep up with the natural ageing process.

Does Ultherapy have any side effects?

Most side effects are mild and settle quickly. These include flushing, slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch. Bruising or prolonged numbness are rare and will be discussed by your treating clinician.

How much does Ultherapy cost?

Each Ulthera treatment is tailored to your concerns, expectations and personal anatomy. We recommend a thorough assessment with your clinician to ascertain the best treatment for you and the Ultherapy price involved.

How can I be sure the online reviews are true? I've read it can dissolve fat.

With over 1.5 million treatments worldwide, the Ulthera ultrasound skin tightening system has vast amounts of published medical evidence to support its rightful place as a reliable and extremely safe treatment. Unlike copycat technologies, Ultherapy delivers energy with accuracy and precision to minimise discomfort, avoid fat destruction and ensure the optimal result.

What's the difference between Ultherapy, Thermage and laser?

Lasers use light energy and treat superficial skin concerns but do not provide a lifting effect. Other anti-ageing treatments like Thermage use radio-frequency to lift and rejuvenate the skin, whereas Ultherapy delivers precise amounts of ultrasound energy at optimal depths and temperatures to precisely target deeper tissues. The gradual tightening that occurs results in a natural lift and improved skin tone over time, all without the need for incisions or downtime.

How can I be confident it's a genuine Ultherapy machine?

There are a number of counterfeit Ultherapy machines in Sydney, which can compromise the quality, safety and efficacy of your treatment. Genuine Ultherapy providers are listed on www.ultherapy.com.au website and should be able to display their Ultherapy Authenticity Crystal and Certificate.
