Halo Hybrid Laser- the best for glowing, younger looking skin

Halo Hydrid Laser is here!

Most of us aren’t lucky enough to have been blessed with clear, smooth and flawless skin. And wouldn’t we all wish to stop the clock and / or age in reverse?

Enter our Halo Hybrid Laser !  It is a non invasive cosmetic treatment that uses laser technology to improve the appearance of the skin and it addresses a variety of skin concerns , such as fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage , hyper pigmentation, acne scars and more. So, as you can see, it is our next best thing to reversing the clock.

The Halo Hybrid Laser works by using dual wavelengths to target both the surface and the deeper layers of the skin. The laser energy heats the skin and stimulates collagen production, leading to a revitalised and refreshed appearance. The technology achieves this by stimulating the cells in the targeted area and triggering cellular remodelling in the damaged skin. Halo has two lasers, each at different wavelengths- one laser targets the surface whilst the other penetrates into the deeper parts of the tissue- this can be referred as deep level resurfacing.

One of the benefits of the Halo Hybrid Laser treatment is that, contrary to other fractionated laser treatments, there is less downtime and less pain. The treatment can be tailored to the patient’s individual skin care concern and goal. Significant improvement can be seen just after one or two sessions.

Another benefit of the Halo Hybrid Laser is that it can be used on a variety of skin types and tones. Halo laser can also be used on all areas of the face and body. While it’s primarily used on the face , Halo can target other areas such as the chest, arms, hands and above the knees.

During the treatment the clinician will use a hand held device to deliver the energy to the skin with most patients reporting a mild to moderate discomfort level, however strong numbing cream is used to minimise any discomfort. Following the treatment it is important to protect the skin from sun exposure and to follow a skin care routine prescribed by your clinician to ensure that your results are maintained .

Who is the perfect patient for Halo?

Patients of any age! For patients in their 20s and 30s , it is great for upkeep and preventative measures and the settings can be light. For patients in their 40s we can target some specific ageing problems such as fine lines and wrinkles and the start of pigmentation and then for patients in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond, we can tackle the deeper lines and more extreme skin conditions and reverse them.

What separates this laser from other lasers?

This laser allows us to achieve results that are amazing because it is so versatile. Most lasers are either ablative or non ablative but this laser is both, meaning that it reaches more than one target,  everything from surface blemishes and acne scars to deeper collagen stimulation in the dermal layer. This is everything from sun damage, age spots, freckles, melasma, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, dull or uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation. The results will be that your skin will reflect the light better and will give the appearance that you are actually glowing from the inside out, hence the term ‘Halo glow”.

The Halo also has a single spot handpiece that we can use to treat lumps and bumps, skin tags, mole removal, sebaceous hyperplasias, xanthelasma ( cholesterol deposits on or near the eyes)and syringomas (clusters of flesh coloured or yellow bumps) . Such a versatile laser for many skin conditions.

What to expect on the day of the treatment?

We ask you to attend the clinic 45 minutes prior to the treatment and your clinician will apply a numbing cream to minimise discomfort during the treatment. Your clinician will measure your face to ensure an even treatment before rolling the handpiece over your skin. The machine guides your clinician the entire time and constantly adjusts the density of the microscopic treatment zones ensuring that you get a steady level of treatment. The dual laser energy is released in short bursts to each section ( on the face that typically includes the left cheek, right cheek, forehead, chin as well as areas around the nose and lips). The treatment can range from 30 to 45 minutes in length.

What will happen to my skin after the treatment?

When the Halo Hybrid Laser hits the microscopic treatment zones , it vaporises the water in the affected column. That becomes dead tissue called MENDS (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) that rises out of the column through the stratum corneum( the outermost layer of the epidermis). These MENDS can last up to 7 days and your skin will have a bronzed look and feel like sandpaper and will be dry.

Next , the undamaged cells surrounding the microscopic treatment zones begin the wound healing process. The epidermal tissue responds immediately to the initial ablative process allowing for quicker healing and minimal downtime. But beneath the epidermis, the skin takes longer to rebuild itself back. Eventually, the small wounds stimulate collagen production and the skin tone evens out .

Patients leave the clinic feeling like they have had a sunburn and the next day there will be swelling that can last from 3 days for a mild Halo to 5 days for a more aggressive one.

Initial results will be seen about 5 days after the treatment but the skin will continue to improve over time and dermal regeneration will continue to happen for months post your Halo treatment.

You will then have this most amazing ‘Halo Glow’ that will last for months.
