What to Expect During the Procedure
Before we can proceed with the hyperhidrosis treatment, any underlying causes will need to be ruled out and it may be recommended that you consult with a GP. If the excessive sweating is a result of an infection, medication or another underlying cause, you will be diagnosed with secondary hyperhidrosis. Once the underlying cause has been treated, the secondary hyperhidrosis should go away. If you are diagnosed with primary hyperhidrosis, the condition can be treated with anti-wrinkle injections as a long-term symptom management solution.
If you are concerned about discomfort, an anaesthetic can be used to numb the area before treatment begins. However, patients can find that hyperhidrosis treatments don’t feel any worse than a regular injection.
